Mission
Imara Roose Inc. is a holistic, inclusive, and transformative mentoring program
that assists Black women in college with actualizing and maximizing their greatness
—personally, academically, and professionally—
by empowering them with the knowledge, skills, and social capital necessary to
break through systemic barriers to equitable access and opportunity,
ultimately changing their trajectory.
Holistic
Black women are dynamic in so many ways,
as such, the approach to effectively
supporting their growth must be multifaceted. We take a holistic approach
—working at the intersection of personal, academic, and professional development—to empower our mentees.
Inclusive
Imara Roose is for Black women,
by Black women.
We've intentionally designed a safe space that provides our mentees with a sense of belonging and unwavering support.
We embody the notion that
each mentee is unique and valued.
Transformative
We play a distinct role in changing the trajectory of Black women
in our community.
After leaving our program,
our mentees continue on to achieve
what they once dreamed of!
