Imara Roose Inc. is a 501(c)(3) volunteer-based mentoring program for girls of color, by women of color. Our mission is to empower black and brown girls with the necessary knowledge, skills, and social capital to break through systemic barriers and change their trajectory!
IMPACT
From 2012-2016, we hosted over 250 workshops, facilitated 10 field trips, and impacted over 100 black and brown girls! Learn more through the testimony below!

Imara Roose is passionate about inspiring, empowering, and uplifting black and brown women and girls. We remain committed to affecting needed change within our communities, and we will continue these efforts until we are no longer disproportionately marginalized, stigmatized, and victimized.
Until then, we remember our sisters, we celebrate their lives, and we will continue to say their names!
FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN
We’re still working towards raising the $25,000 needed to operate at no cost to our mentees—we need your support, consider making a financial or in-kind donation today!

IN-KIND DONATIONS: We’re looking for individuals, local businesses, and corporations to donate items (i.e., gift cards, merchandise, etc.) and services that can be used in our fundraising efforts and to reduce our operating budget . Click here.

GRANT COMPETITION:
STATE FARM NEIGHBORHOOD ASSIST
We submitted an application to State Farm’s Neighborhood Assist Grant Competition! If we’re selected within the top 200 entries, then we could win $25,000, BUT we'll need your support!
Once the state farm committee selects the top 200 entries, 40 submissions will be selected based on community votes—if you’re willing to support us, please click here and we’ll send you more details.

AMPLIFY AWARENESS: Spread the word about our invaluable work as a critical step to Increasing our larger community’s awareness and support;
RECRUITMENT: Help us secure highly qualified women of color to volunteer their time and talent;
FUNDRAISE: Support our efforts to raise sufficient funds to allow mentors and mentees to participate at little to no cost etc.

EMPOWERED WOMEN SERIES
Our empowered women series will launch this Fall. During this virtual series, successful women of color, from various industries, will share candid insight and advice. Attendees will leave with tools and inspiration to navigate and thrive in their personal, professional, and academic pursuits.
