Director

"I’ve been intensely searching to become a board member for an organization whose mission I am closely aligned with. As a black woman, at the center of intersectionality, navigating this space can be difficult, trying, and at times overwhelming. I would love to continue laying bricks for the upcoming generations and work to help cultivate, uplift, and empower young women of color."

Destiny Cox is the former Executive Assistant to the Editor-at-Large for The Hill—a leading bi-partisan news source focused on politics, policy, business, and international relations based in Washington, D.C. Prior to working at The Hill, Destiny served as the Director of Business Development for Elan Strategies, a minority-owned Washington, D.C based fundraising firm.

Destiny brings a high level of analytical and problem solving abilities to help arrive at creative solutions with a focus on core business goals. Cox has experience in both public and private sector accounting, having successfully readied a consortium of small oil field related companies for merger and initial public offering. In addition, she co-authored the annual financial report for the Texas General Land Office, and participated in the valuation and management process of various investment funds within the Texas General Land Office and the Texas Permanent School Fund portfolio, and developed strategies that increased the agency’s delinquent debt recovery by 29%. Additionally, Cox has experience working in both front and back-end business development with Austin and DC local-area startups, working to develop new strategic partnerships and guide long-term objectives to meet business needs and requirements.

Destiny is a Summa Cum Laude graduate, Accounting and Management, of the University of Houston. A native Texan, Destiny has volunteered with the Austin Women’s Investing Group and also served as an Instructor and Ambassador for the Financial Literacy Coalition of Central Texas.
